Girls Rock VT
Girls Rock Vermont is a week long day camp held during the summer that offers girls and non-binary youth, ages 9-18, the opportunity to form a band, write an original song, and perform at a local live music venue at the end of the week showcase. The girls also participate in various workshops throughout the week including songwriting, vocals, consent and boundaries, t-shirt deconstruction and stage presence.
Campers receive instrument instruction each day in small groups organized by skill level and age. On the first day, campers form bands, and during daily band practice, campers write music and lyrics collectively, assisted by band coaches. At the end of the week, bands perform their original song at a final showcase. Workshops, classes, and band practice are led by teams of dedicated volunteers. We strive for camp to be a week that is super fun and meaningful for campers from a variety of identities, perspectives, and experiences.
